Just like our academic programmes at FPS, our sports programmes are vertically aligned and build on skills from year-to-year. Introduction to sports is done in Junior School through the Health and Wellness programme in which students can try out different sports and learn fundamental skills. In Senior Schools, students join specific sports teams and represent their respective schools in various tournaments, based on their skills and ability.

Upon admission at FPS, each child is assigned one of the following houses. The Sports Trophy is awarded to the House that accumulates the most house points during the school year.

‘Regal the Eagle’ is the official FPS mascot. Regal is an energetic, fun and high-spirited eagle that projects a positive and powerful image of athletics at FPS. The official colors of the mascot are purple and golden which all FPS sports teams wear. Regal is an integrating force at all FPS sporting events and reflects the energy of the student body. He can be seen cheering and motivating the teams at various sporting events, Pride Days, special assemblies, and Sports Days, etc.

The FPS Premier League is the hallmark of FPS. It is the intra-school, inter-house tournament in which the three houses, Jinnah, Iqbal, and Liaquat battle it out for the top prize – The Sports Trophy. The league includes a plethora of sports including football, basketball, throwball, table tennis and track and field. The finale of the Premier League is held at the Pakistan Sports Board stadium annually in the month of January or February.
Now in its 20th year, the FPS Sports Festival, is one of the most renowned sports competitions in the city. It is held annually each year in the months of October and November, with over 30 participating schools. The grand opening ceremony marks the commencement of the festival in the sports of football, basketball, throwball, athletics and table tennis. The closing ceremony, in which the winning teams and best players are presented with prizes, culminates the festival. The FPS Sports Festival aims to promote healthy competition, gender equality in sports, camaraderie, and lifelong friendships.
FPS encourages its students to engage in sports at all levels. While the FPS Premier League is only for Senior Schools, our Junior Schools hold an annual Sports Day of their own. The Junior Sports Day is an inter-house event in which students compete in various disciplines including track and field and other team sports.
The Health and Wellness programme is an exclusive programme for FPS Junior Schools in Karachi. Under this program, the PE or Physical Education class has been transformed to a structured subject with a detailed curriculum that is based on the American National Standards for Physical Education. PE classes now consist of mandatory, structured activities that put emphasis on locomotor skills and bone development of our students. Skills such as stretching, running, dribbling, catching, throwing and striking are taught to our students through structured play activities. This program ensures the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our students, while preparing strong athletes for the future.
FPS is the first school in Karachi that began organizing international sports tours for its students. Starting in the early 1990s, the FPS cricket team toured South Africa and even played a match at the famous Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. Following that successful tour, FPS cricket teams toured both England and Australia. In 2004 and 2006, FPS was the only school from Karachi that was invited to Lucknow, India, to participate in an international sports tournament. This past year, FPS hosted a football championship in Dubai, UAE, which was attended by over 70 FPS students.
Over the years FPS has organized international sports tours for its students in Australia, England, India, Malaysia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Turkey and the UAE.
Foundation United Soccer Academy (FUSA) is an independent soccer club that is operated by FPS. FUSA was initiated to foster the talents of our students in the field of soccer. FUSA training sessions are held several times a week by certified coaches. Training sessions are held in football grounds located in KDA and Clifton. FUSA also holds an annual summer camp that is an intensive football summer camp for FPS students. Students are given rigorous technical and physical training to help aid their development as young athletes. Registrations for FUSA begin in the month of April.
