On a hot, simmering summer’s day, two enterprising and ambitious friends were having a heated discussion on the state of education in Pakistan. Yasmeen and Sabiha were in the United States receiving their degrees in Educational Administration and American Montessori Training respectively. They lamented the lack of quality education in Pakistan and shared a life-long dream of opening a quality school of their own one day.
In pursuit of their common vision and passion for education, Yasmeen and Sabiha decided to chase their dream. On their return to Karachi, providence had it all chalked out for them; both Yasmeen and Sabiha began work at the same school; Yasmeen as a Vice-Principal and Sabiha as the head of the Infant Section.
Opportunity came knocking at their doors when a building came up for rent. The two enterprising women, along with Sabiha’s cousin, Raza Minhas, who had returned from the U.S. securing an MBA degree for himself, leased the property and the first branch of FPS opened in P.E.C.H.S on October 14, 1981 with 12 students and 5 teachers.
Today, its name is synonymous with quality education and it has a well-integrated network of 12 branches (8 in Karachi and 4 in Hyderabad, Sindh) that range from Pre-School to A Level. It is acclaimed for imparting 21st century education with its modern curriculum, state-of-the-art and purpose-built campuses, qualified and trained staff and faculty, outstanding co-curricular and extracurricular activities, and for forming an alumni force that is evidence of its proficient legacy.
